Our client, a leading sustainable forestry organization, is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Director to join their innovative forestry project in Kalimantan. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a significant initiative that combines sustainable forest management with conservation objectives. This forest rebuild project that aims to create an economically viable commercial business while regenerating forest land. The project has the potential to create over 60,000 jobs and protect 50,000 hectares of primary forest. Additionally, it could restore 16,000 hectares in wildlife corridors and achieve 5 million tons per year in CO2 reductions.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the design an implementation for commercial opportunities within the project.
Manage circular system implementation and monitoring
Supervise forest conservation efforts and biodiversity preservation
Coordinate with local stakeholders and community members
Support project planning and execution
Monitor and report on project milestones and deliverables
Assist in developing and implementing sustainable strategies
Manage relationships with local communities and government agencies
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
Previous experience of working with a top international consulting firm and being assigned to green commercial projects
Proven track record in project management and stakeholder engagement
Strong understanding of sustainable forest management practices
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Fluency in English (local language skills are advantageous)
Willingness to frequently visit a remote site location in Kalimantan
