We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forestry Research & Development Manager to oversee the research and development centre of a groundbreaking forestry project. This project focuses on the regeneration of forests through the creation of environmentally friendly commercial ventures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science with experience gained in forestry or agricultural, a passion for sustainability, and the ability to manage complex issues in remote locations.
Jobs Responsibilities:
Manage the overall operations for the research and development program for the forestry project, ensuring the successful regeneration of forests and the creation of sustainable commercial ventures.
Oversee and coordinate research and development activities related to forestry regeneration.
Utilize GIS and database tools to analyze and manage forestry data.
Lead and manage a team of researchers and field staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Develop and implement operational processes to translate research findings into practical, commercial applications.
Spend significant time in the field, with approximately two-thirds of the time spent at a remote site location.
Collaborate with local communities, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to ensure the project's success and sustainability.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in forestry or agricultural leadership.
Proficiency in GIS and database management.
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Eagerness to learn and the capability to understand and address complex issues.
Willingness to spend a significant amount of time in the field and at remote site locations.
High proficiency in both English and Indonesian.
Knowledge of climate and carbon issues, with a focus on sustainable practices.
Familiarity with circular systems and sustainable agricultural practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with local communities and stakeholders.
